Whilst I was emptying the bins today, a bit of broken glass went through the bin bag and gashed my leg- it was bleeding a lot so I stifled the flow of blood with some tissue and hobbled to reception, where Dave said I had to get stitches. He drove me to the 24 hour medical centre (the one that hasn't got a very good reputation, and is just down the road from the hostel), and when he returned 2 minutes after leaving me in reception, I thought to myself 'Oh how nice, this isn't the Dave I know, coming back to stay with me'. But no, he was just telling me that if anyone asks, I have to say I was tidying my room and not working, as he would have to fill out loads of forms… typical! A woman was already lying on the bed in the procedure room, but my doctor told her to move to another room, which just shows the sort of place it is. He just picked up the stuff that was on there for her operation and placed it on the side, and I wasn't very reassured by the stains on the sheets. It didn't really hurt but I was a bit overwhelmed by how much blood had been spurting out so was crying and inhaling really deeply to myself. I was surprised that once the anaesthetic had started working, you couldn't feel him putting the stitches in at all. In a way I was quite happy that I had an excuse to buy probiotic yoghurt (it's expensive out here, and I needed antibiotics which kill friendly bacteria and can cause stomach troubles) and I looked especially beautiful today since I tried out the makeup in the chemist whilst waiting for antibiotics to be prescribed.

I made banana and cinnamon muffins in my break today… I think that's the reason why Dave brought the muffin trays so that I could give some to him.
