After cleaning I offered to go to Coles to buy stuff for reception (in a selfish way I wanted some more coffee which we had run out of). Amanda asked me to buy some packs of coke cans and water bottles as they sell them to the guests, which made the trolley very difficult to push around, especially as the streets I had to walk down were sloped so I ended up hitting a few cars, and then as I was minutes away from the hostel, the trolley tipped over- very embarrassing but the girls walking passed at the time offered to help pick it up.
Alice came back from her lunch shift and gave me one of the hogster keyring's -apparently a customer had left a cuddly toy behind so Brenton had given it to Bella, and Josh gave Alice a key ring so as not to make her feel left out, but then Alice asked if she could swap it for a cup, and so he let her have both, and then gave her a key ring to give to me. I swapped mine later for a cup as well as in our hostel they'll come in very handy, especially as their so recognisable as ours!
Today's progress with the cold was that I had a very squeaky and croaky voice- not ideal when your job involves a mini speech to every table, when Josh put me on the busiest section and left the restaurant open in between lunch and dinner and so text me to see if I could start at 4 instead of 5.45 like I was supposed to, since there was a rugby game on. However, I felt a lot better (despite not sounding better) and so could have happily stayed on longer than Josh sent me home. I felt a bit awkward when I started talking to a customer, and he replied in as hoarse a voice as mine, and I asked him if he was taking the piss to which his mate replied that that's how he talked normally, but luckily we had a bit more banter and so I think I got away with it!
