On the way to work, I walked through Rusty's fruit and Veg market, and brought a fruit salad fruit, although I think I'm going to have to research how to eat it! Brenton was supposed to be being trained by Emilie on how to open and close the restaurant, but he turned up late so hopefully they'll still put me on lots of openings, as it means more hours for me. I thought I started at 11.30, but Josh must have changed the time I started when he did the new roster, as it was put down at 12, but it was OK as it was quite busy today, which I presume is because of the Easter holidays.

Alice had to start reception at 10, but Dave hadn't turned up, and in the afternoon, for some reason she was being trained at the Waterfront instead of here.

In my break, I tried to have a nap, but failed so watched the rest of The Life of Pi that German Seb had put on. It made me want to go back to India and go wherever he lived as it was very beautiful! Seb confused me by saying 'Ah, I get it, he is the tiger' in the part when he tells the different story to the Japanese ship owners, because I just took the story as it was.

Chats told me that Alan was very happy because I had sold 42 cheese sauces this month, which I found amusing that this is the way he judges how good you are. My lunch PPA (per person average, i.e. how much extras I'm selling) is fine but my evening time PPA needs increasing- proof I'm not a sales person! I was serving a table celebrating a birthday and the girl whose friend had made the cake let me have some of it- it had four layers of different coloured cakes (red, green, blue and yellow) covered in white chocolate icing and decorated with m&m's, Freddo frogs and white chocolate buttons. She gave me a massive wedge which was gladly accepted by fellow hostel guests.
