I got on with researching Math's Tutoring today (I've been thinking I might do it to raise a bit more funds), and so I went to the library to see if they had any space where I could do it, as clearly the hostel wouldn't be very good, and it would be good to do it somewhere in town so I wouldn't have to get a bus to the students house. One woman said I would have to hire a meeting room (at an expense) but another said I could do it in a corner, which is what some people do anyway. I then spent the time before going to Woolworths (the supermarket) reading the Australian OK magazine that you could read in there- so I can catch up with celebrity gossip without spending loads of money on them! Pretty chuffed with this find! I couldn't really squeeze in eating my free dinner today so brought a potato and some beans, which only cost $1.50, and it was quite funny how much attention it attracted and how people were saying how nice it looked, just because it wasn't the usual rice and pasta we've grown used to.
They had a really nice sounding Valentine's cocktail at work today -Cupid's bubbles made from Cherry brandy, champagne and cranberry juice. I felt a bit bad that I asked a young boy for extras, and then when he asked how much it was, it kind of seemed like he just didn't want to look like a cheapskate in front of his girlfriend. I also felt bad that I knew it was a boys birthday, but forgot to put sparklers in his families Sundae when he had seen someone else getting Happy Birthday sang to them.
Went out to The Kasbah, where they sell $2 drinks on a Thursday, and then on to the Woolshed, because it was Penny, Alex's and Nicolas' last night out (Penny is the breakfast girl, Alex is the bus driver, Nicolas is bar guy). Emilie the Swede (so nicknamed to differentiate herself from the other Emilie at work, and is from Sweden) was at the Kasbah so danced with her for a bit. I had got a tip and she had kept it for me instead of keeping it for herself, bless her!
