I'm glad I had my training after having a few shifts, as I had just been getting quite settled and then some of the stuff Alan said made me a bit nervous, like when he asked if I had had any bar training, and I replied no he said "honestly, why does Josh hire some of these people". Quite a lot of the stuff he was saying was just a repeat of the online training, but there was also some new things like nodding whilst offering extras make them more likely to agree, and some psychological tricks to make people think they want pudding (leave an empty plate in front of a person who has someone still eating opposite them).

When I had finished my cleaning, William (one of the French guys on reception) asked if I wanted to go out with them, as their friend Antoine had just arrived in town. We went to Gilligan's, where we met Alice and Nils, and then to the Woolshed.

Alice has checked into another new hostel where she will be cleaning for accommodation, so that she could go diving with Nils today.
