I, in typical Laura fashion, was ready and packed by about 9.30. Alice, in typical Alice fashion, was only putting her washing in the machine about then as she hadn't got any clean underwear. We headed over to the Jucy rentals office to pick up our van, and hadn't thought to transfer money from our savings account to our current account, so I had to run back and do a quick transfer. Bex met us there and so was present to witness the proof that Dave had the right idea that filming mine and Alice's trip would be comic- first when he said the gear had to be in the 'P' position to take the keys out, I asked "What you can take the keys out?", thinking he meant whilst driving. When we got to the traffic lights, I realised I'd forgotten to do what you learn to do at the age of about 5- put the seat belt on. As I parked I noticed, I noticed I had been driving with the handbrake on! We told Dave , and also mentioned that we wanted to go to Milla Milla falls, but he said that he had met Peter Andre just that morning (which obviously we thought was a joke at first, but turned out it actually wasn't and 'Mysterious Girl' was filmed in Thailand, not Milla Milla). Dave is good friend with Reno- the guy who tried to chat me up at Hogs Breath and saw them together. He asked Jo on Nomads reception if she knew him because he didn't believe that he was a famous singer, and when Reno asked if she liked him, she replied "no" which ruined her chances of meeting him!

By the time all our goodbyes were over (Amanda wanted us to visit her at work) it was 1.30, and Bex kindly went in front to show us how to get on the Gillies Highway. But just a moment after she left us, Alice realised she had left her phone at the hostel, so we returned back there and didn't get to Milla Milla until about 4.45 (we felt a bit less drawn to it since Dave ruined our Peter Andre moment). It was nice but we didn't go in for a dip.

We arrived at Paranella Park at around 6.15, so the guy booked us in for the 8pm night tour. Paranella Park is a place where a guy called Jose Paranella built a castle, which is powered by hydro power produced by the waterfall besides it, and the entry fee included a night's stay in the caravan park. When I was coming down the path which lead to the toilets a woman said to me "Ooh, it's long and steep to get there!" which should have warned us that it was mostly old people doing the tour.

We got given torches, but in the dark you couldn't really see much. Probably the highlight of the tour was feeding the eels that lived in the creek the waterfall was flowing into.

The grand finale was when the castle lit up and music played, which was quite impressive at first but then it was dragged out quite a while- I was looking at it so long I started getting a bit delirious, and imagined the castle had a face and was looking sinisterly at me.

Ezzy (from Tribal Travel) told us we would get a free gift of a bit of the wall blown down by a cyclone, which was true in return for our torches.

I'm gutted because I tried to use the Wi-Fi but my laptop screen just fizzled out, and when you turn it on it just shows a white screen.
