Me and Alice tried to sneak off into town to get Bex a birthday cake, but Bex wanted a McDonald's so she came with us. I had some chips (you have to pay for ketchup!) and a cookie crumble McFlurry, which had a lot more topping than what you'd get in stingy England! Alice had a double fudge chocolate brownie, and Bex had a McChicken meal. We then went to Target to get Alice some black clothes for her Indian shift tonight.
They went to get the 4 o' clock bus back, so Alice could get ready, and I stayed as my trial started at 4.45. I went to Driftin' Café to ask Tina when I was working, but I don't think she had drawn up the roster yet.
But when I got to Hog's Breath, it seemed like Chats (the Co-Manager) liked me enough to already employ me. I was drinks runner for the night, which I was a bit wobbly at and spilled a few cokes, and I was embarrassed afterwards when I asked a little boy if he was a cowboy, because he was wearing one of the Australian style hats (minus corks), as was his father and so was clearly part of his everyday wardrobe. Afterwards Chats put me down on the roster, without asking me when I was free. It was for 9 shifts, but you don't get finishing times, because they will dismiss you if it's not very busy. You get a minimum of 2 hours a shift though, and the pay is better here at $16.75 an hour.
I had a missed call from Tina, and then when she rang me again, she started telling me I had a shift tomorrow at 11.45- which would clash with my 12 at Hogs. I tried explaining that I hadn't known how many hours she was giving me (she said she had put me down for nearly 20), so had gone to another trial and also got that job, but I don't know how much got through due to translation issues. I felt so guilty but I had honestly not expected much to come from the trial, and just wanted to make sure I would have enough hours.
