I felt very important in the business that Josh wanted me, Brenton, Dan and Chats to attend after Brenton had finished closing for lunch. He wanted to discuss things that needed to be brought to his attention when he wasn't there for lunch. He went through the plans for the renovation that is going to be happening over the next couple of months (Hogs Breath has been on Allen's back about it for years, and he had finally agreed to change it to the way they wanted it). At the end, we arranged to do the Rocky Road Sundae challenge- eat as much of the mud cake pieces in chocolate sauce, covered in 8 scoops of ice cream, topped with whipped cream, marshmallows, coconut and wafer biscuits as you can in as little time as possible. Josh wanted to do his tonight, but I had originally said I was going to do it tomorrow night, as people were going out for a Belgian girl called Melanie's birthday, although when it came to it, it seemed like it would be better to go head to head. There was a table having a birthday party who had told Alice they thought I had no chance, but I only left a thin layer of the sauce and mud cake at the bottom, whereas Josh left probably about a third of his! The birthday table were all very surprised! The deal was whoever lost, brought both the sundae's, and he also brought me a beer from the pub over the road, 'The Jack', although a beer was the last thing I wanted after eating so much, as their quite filling as it is! It was nice to go for a drink with him though, and find out more about him, such as how he and Alannah met.
In between shifts, whilst super gluing my sandals back together, I felt very smug with myself that I hadn't glued my skin together like it said to be careful about on the instructions… until I realised I had super glued my hand to my sandal sole- I had to get Mo to saw it off with a safety pin. Whilst gluing my Rocky Road Sundae cup back together I also managed to glue my fingers together- it's potent stuff!
It was very uncomfortable trying to drink with Melanie and Co., so I gave up. We left quite late and so only had maybe half an hour at The Buddha Bar. I didn't want to pay to get into Gilligan's, where I knew I'd have to dance, so went back to the hostel.
