Today me and Dane made homemade pasta- he made normal flavour, and, because I'm strange and had wanted to try making it ever since I read one of the short stories in one of the World Book Day £1 books where the boy made banana pasta for his mum's birthday breakfast in bed, I made banana and cinnamon pasta. Jamie Oliver's brand of pasta machine isn't very good as the rolling bit you roll the pasta through first didn't run very smoothly so we didn't get it as thin as it was probably meant to be. My pasta smelt nice from the cinnamon but you couldn't really taste the banana as I made normal pasta dough and then added mushed up banana and then had to keep adding flour to get the consistency right so every time I added banana, I had to weaken the taste. I think next time I will make it like banana gnocchi- using banana instead of potato. I wanted to have some savoury sauce, and then make a peanut butter cream sauce for the pasta for a pudding (when I googled banana pasta this was one of the recipes someone else had tried) but Alice wanted to go to Cape Tribulation and so got me to cover her evening shift and so I didn't have time to do both-I'll maybe make the peanut butter one for breakfast tomorrow.
