Spent the morning recovering from last night (we didn't get in until 5) and then got up and packed to go to Shanghai. It took me about 4 hours but I finally left the flat about 5 and caught a bus to Beijing. Had some dinner in a vegetarian restaurant opposite the train station and got the train at quarter to ten. It was a very smart train and I made the right choice with the soft seat option - it was really nice (although the seats were a bit narrow) and for the price more than adequate.
