Had a very noisy lesson this morning - it was fun but the worst piece of teaching I think I have done mainly because the class kept distracting me from actually teaching!! First, I had one boy ask me if I would answer some questions for a 'game'. Since he was trying hard with his English I agreed, and he asked me "Where are you from?", "Do you like skating?", "What is your favourite colour?" and "What is your favourite sport?". Then, just as I was waiting for him to out this all together and some up with some analysis of me, he sat down - that was the game over??!!! Next, one of the girls offered me her mini Christmas Tree which I had admired. I said I couldn't possibly take it as they are very rare in China and she should enjoy it with her class. At this point she promptly produced another one from her desk and we spend 5 minutes sharing out the decorations!! It was really bizarre as Christmas is not really celebrated here and so you don't see decorations. Anyway, got through the lesson and met Hannah for lunch. Spent the afternoon on the internet looking for inspiration for next weeks lesson and then this evening we went to 'Woman Love' for dinner.
