Got told I needed to be in school this morning at 8:30 for a meeting, but when we got there is was just to meet with the Koreans to discuss the Saturday classes - which we had already done! Ended up getting stuck there until 11:00 and then I had got the bus into Beijing. I had arranged to meet Casey at 5:00 to try and buy train tickets to go to Xi'an for the mid term break next week. As I arrived quite early I thought I would take advantage of being in Beijing and so I went to visit the Southeast Corner Watchtower. This is a 15th centuary bastion which stands on the corner of the old city walls of which, only a small section survives. The watchtower is still in fantastic condition and houses an art gallery which exhibits lots of work by new contemporary artists. Meet Casey at 5:00 and we queued for half an hour only to be told that the tickets didn't go on sale until 7:00 that evening! I couldn't hang around for that long as I would miss my last bus home, and as Casey only lives 20 minutes from the station she agreed to go back in the morning to try and get them. I really apprciate being able to by tickets on the internet now, but it doesn't seem to have caught on here yet!
