Another 11:15 start again this morning, but Hannah started at 10:20 and so I walked in with her. After morning lessons, we went to the supermarket and pulled together all the Mandarin we could to ask for pastries which did not contain meat or egg (Hannah is alergic). It took quite a time to get through to the counter staff (they kept pointing us to the meat counter) but eventually we came away with 2 pastries which we found were just what we were looking for! This afternoon I had 3 classes. Generally the children don't like to volunteer to speak, but this afternoon I was surprised to find one student wanted to tell the class about his summer holiday. He got up and started telling us all he had done and then moved on to tell us about the most memorable time - when he met this girl! It went on for about 5 minutes and was quite sweet but he didn't seem to notice all the other students sniggering! After the sucess of lunchtime we decided to brave the supermarket again for dinner. Once again we went through the same performance and ended up with what we wanted although not so tasty!
