Arrived in Hangzhou at 7:00 this morning and headed straight for the hostel we had been recommended. We weren't able to check in until 12:00 and so I went off to explore the town, to look for a book and to post some stuff back to England. By the time I got back it was 12:00 so we had some lunch and checked in. This evening we met up with Tanya and Jonathon (the mother and son whom we had been with in Shangri-la) who live in Hangzhou where Tanya teaches and Jonathon studies. It was great to catch up with them again. We took a walk in the Old Town and went for dinner, then got a taxi to the ex-pat area for drinks.
