Got up and decided to walk to Tian'an Men Square to see the embalmed body of Chairman Mao. It was a bitterly cold day mainly due to the wind, and I had to stop en route at a Macdonalds to warm up with a hot chocolate. Got to the square and I had to check my rucksack and handbag into the luggage store, then queue a short while to get into the Mausoleum. Once in, you are greated by a huge statue of Mao sitting in an armchair, and then you file around past the coffin and see the body. You are all in a line so you can't really stop, and you are all the way through in less than 5 minutes. From here I was planning to do some more sight seeing, but it was so cold I decided to cut it short and get back home to the warm.
