Another early start as Miss Cao came to pick us up to take us to the school for breakfast. When we got there loads of students were already there and it seems their task for the day was to clean up the school ready for term start tomorrow! Breakfast was not so good - an uncooked piece of dough filled with cabbage, a boiled egg and a bowl of soup! Luckily they left us to it and therefore didn't see how much we throw away! Afterwards we were given a tour of the school - the teaching rooms were fairly cramped with about 50 students squashed in but the sports facilities are lovely - in a new building. We went to see the Dean again to find out how our meals work - it seems we are going to get an allowance for them which works out well as it means we don't have to eat in the school all the time. We also got our timetables. It seems the company got our age ranges mixed up and it seems I am actually teaching high school - 16/17 year olds - Hannah has 15/16 year olds. Anyway, the timetable seems okay - I have 14 classes a week (45 mins each) all with different students and all the same age, so it looks like I will get away with one lesson plan a week! They have also told me that we can do all our lesson planning from home - I don't have to be in school until 10:20 each day and I get the whold of Friday off! This afternoon we explored the local area and found the internet cafe, then went back to the hotel to prepare our lessons for tomorrow.
