I don't work on a Friday, but I wanted to catch up with my students about their essay and so I decided to go in when Hannah did at 11. I hung around the office for an hour and then went to get some lunch and took it to the park to eat it. We had the most bizarre moment in the park when some guy came over to us and started reading Hannah's timetable - then about 6 other people started coming over to take a look. I don't even know if the people all knew each other, but they stood and discussed it in Chinese for a good 10 minutes. I've no idea what they could possibly find to talk about it for all that time and meantime we were just there smiling as if this was completely normal. Went back to school to use the internet for the afternoon and then we cam home and tidied up. Had an early dinner - we have found this most amazing dish of aubergine and potato which is in the best sauce which we have with rice - and then came back in time for the 2teachers to bring their sons round for an English lesson. There was a bit of a panic when I found they hadn't brought their school books as I was told they would do, but we pulled together some English speaking games and that seemed to go down well. Their English was actually much better than I had anticipated. The lesson was supposed to be an hour, but in true Chinese style they arrived 10 minutes early and returned half an hour late!
