Went to meet Miss Cao this morning who took us to administration to pick up our salaries from the Chinese school. Then she tried to sort out our pay from the Korean school - it all got very confusing due to the number of people involved in every transaction here! One of the 2nd Grade English teachers had given me the money in the staff room yesterday, but it was not what I expected. She kindly called the administration office (a different one than the one we went to this morning) who said I would need to take it up with the Head of the Korean School which is what Miss Cao was doing. Anyway, having spoken to the Head, she said she would investigate. The next thing, I'm told there was a mistake and to take the money back - I did this expecting then to be given the correct money, but they just took the money off me and said they were looking into it! This evening we went to the supermarket to spent the vouchers I had been given for my birthday. We stocked the basket up with goodies we normally consider too expensive but when we got to the till we were told the voucher expired on 4th October!! Ended up leaving the shop empty handed in a strop! Went out for dinner with desert of fried bread and condensed mik at the hotel and then watched a film.
