Woke up early so got up and went to find a route up to the pagoda which I see every day. It turned out to be fairly easy and had great views of the area. On my way back to the apartment I also found an indoor market which is much nicer than any of the others I have been to around here! Hannah and I wandered into Beijing City Centre just after lunch, and met up with Teresa and Warren - 2 more of the interns we know from Harbin. We headed for the Sanlitan area which is popular with the Expats, and found toasted sandwiches with Peanut Butter and Jam - a real treat!! We took a look around one of the markets and then found ourselves a bar serving Gin and Tonics for 10 yuan! We heard all about the way their school operates - changing exam marks and competitions to suit - quite glad I'm not in a private school. There were a large group of interns arriving from Shenyang this evening who were down for the Golden Week, so we met them from the train, and then went for drinks in the Hon Hai area which is a lovely lake surrounded by bars and clubs to see in my birthday. We stayed in a hostel tonight with Claire and Emma so that we didn't have to leave too early!
