Back to school today and lessons seemed really hard work today. I don't know if it was just getting back into the swing of it or what, but the students just weren't interested! I tried teaching them the term 'couch potato' thinking they would find it amusing, but not even a smile! Then I tried playing 'Who am I?' where they ask me yes / no questions to guess a famous person I am thinking of, but even that only got a few of them participating. Might be a long week... This afternoon I got stopped by the Korean students English teacher Connie, who asked if I would have dinner with her. She took me to the Korean students canteen where we had an amazing meal of rice, beansprouts, vegetables and tofu. She had asked to speak to me about teaching some English classes for the Korean students on a Saturday morning. They provide all the teaching materials and the text books so there's minimum lesson planning required, and there's only 10 in a class! Whilst it means I'd lose my Saturday morning, they finish at 12:30 and the money they're paying will almost double my salary!
