Day 154: 3/6/13
I can't believe its June already. I had my going away party on the 3rd of June last year- it doesn't feel like a year ago!! Time flies- I doubt it will fly as much when I go back though!!
I was back today at the school I've worked the most at. It makes such a difference to know where you're going in the morning. I still found it hard to get up though!!
I had a 1/2 class today. I'd had them before for PE but not in the class. They were alright, but extremely chatty!! The teacher was in the school doing planning so she had everything organised. First we had to chat about their excursion last Friday. They went to a farm and saw goats, chickens and turkeys. They got to do some art aswell. We chatted about it, they picked their favourite part, they planned what they were going to write and then they wrote it. I had been instructed to bring them for a short play after doing their plan and then they had their brain food. So we wasted half the time giving them a break!! Some girls spent most of their time chatting and didn't get finished at all, but I kept them in until they wrote more! I don't think they were expecting that!! After break they had to do last Fridays spelling test while the other class did silent reading. Then they had to finish Maths work that they had done last week. They had to write down a timetable- various times and what they do that day. They could do it at any time of the day and on any day of the week so there were some random things down, like not going to bed until midnight!! They had show and tell then. They love that as they get to use the microphone. This week the topic was their favourite movie so they had plenty to say. After lunch they had rotations where all the 1/2's are mixed up and get to do fun activities. My group were colouring in clothes a snowman might wear and sticking them on. I had two groups in the hour and a half and they were chatty!! I'd a headache afterwards!!
I got a text during the day to work the rest of the week in the other school I've been in a lot which is a lot closer. So that's great news!! I know where I am for the rest of the week and I don't have to go that far!! It's a 3/4 class- some of them are nice, some not so nice so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see which one I get!!
I went to Laura's house in the evening to bring over the stuff I was giving her- some books and the extra bag I had bought to come to Melbourne. I had all the stuff I'm planning on posting home too and she took some of them. So, Mam and Dad ye will have to get them off her sometime over the next few weeks. I don't have that much left to post now, until I sart to pack and I won't be able to fit half the stuff I want!! Her bringing what she did is a great help anyway.
I stayed for a little while chatting. It'll be summer 2014 before I see her again at the earliest!! It's weird!! I didn't stay too long as they still had to finish packing. Hopefully they'll have an uneventful flight home over the 40 hours they're travelling!!
