Day 74: 15/3/13
I was so tired this morning! Its amazing how tired it makes you, this talking to people! I got another round of applause this morning for keeping up my 1 sale a day. Another guy that started last week sold 4 yesterday so he's the top newbie at the moment. I was talking to the French guy that did the interview with me and he's been with his manager all week an then let off on his own at 4. I haven't had much training at all. Doug, the on field trainer was with us today and said he'd come with me for a few hours in the afternoon.
I got a lot of people today again that were just saying no, not again, I get energy people all the time and I'm not interested. I got a woman's bill early enough. That's the key apparently. Generally I don't even get to say my pitch as the cut me off and I don't get any bill from them. This woman got the bill though. She had changed over a few times to different people and wanted the cheapest and I'd say I could have gotten her signed up but she didn't know who she was with now as she had just changed and hadn't got her bill from the most recent company yet. So I didn't push her. I couldn't try to sell her something when I didn't know what she should be comparing it to.
The next bill I got was from an old man about eighty. He was with AGL- an awful lot of them have been with AGL their whole life as they used to be the default retailer, but they are expensive. This guys bills were really dear so I wa able to sort him out with cheaper prices. When I rang for verification it came up as Do Not Quote on their system. I don't know why that happens. My manager has to come out then to verify the sale. She did that later in the day, but the sale is still mine. I'll have to find out why DNQ comes up.
I got really tired around 3 and 4. Apparently 4-6:30 is game time as people are just home from work and you can talk to more people, leading to more sales. It was about 5 before I got a bit of energy again! I got two bills after 5 so I was happy with that. One woman had been with Origin. Then someone at the door signed her up wit Red. Then origin rang we back to offer her a better deal so she cancelled Red. She was on a good deal so there wasn't much I could do and origin anyway probably just would have offered her a better deal again anyway.
The last woman I spoke to was very interested. She couldn't actually find a bill. She could find a letter with her rates on it. She had changed to Red too, obviously someone very good from Red came around a while ago! She also found lots of reminder notices as she hadn't paid on time! So she was very interested in our 13% discount which you still get if you pay late. You only get the discount from Red if you pay on time. I had told her I needed the code on the bill in my pitch, as I'm supposed to so I couldn't push the sale without it. She also wanted to contact Red about her exit fee. She said she would text me tomorrow to sign up when she found a bill, but I doubt she will.
So I finished on 1 again today. The other people are only getting 1 and 2 anyway with the top guys getting 3 and 4. I was happy enough that I got 4 bills anyway.
I was dropped off near the main station so I was home earlier than usual. I just watched some tv for the evening. We're getting into a BBC drama here called Parades End. It's good.
