Day 95: 5/4/13
Today we were told to be at work at 12, we would do some training and then go out on the field. I was a bit skeptical as there was no word of getting id badges or uniforms or anything. At 12 we had we had another chance to play with the software on the ipad. Then Alex went over the pitch and body of the presentation, etc. Everything stays the same really and the rates are pretty similar to what we were selling so it won't be too different. It will just take us a while to get used to it. After going through some stuff a woman who is the CEO at ASAP came to talk to us as there has been a delay with the uniforms and they won't be here until Monday- so we can't work until then. We still need to know how to use another programme on the iPad so even if we have they uniform on Monday we probably still won't get out all day! It's a disaster.
They brought us to the pub and brought us free beer to try and please us! That's all well and good but its not money! We stayed in the pub for a few hours. People were going home in dribs and drabs. I eventually went home around 8. The people are good enough Craic but most of them are really young- 18/19- so I don't have much in common with them! They're nice enough though!
Alex was going on about new structures he's setting up so that reps can become leaders, then team managers and then work to owning their own company of reps. He was telling a small group of us and then wante to know what I thought as I was older and wiser!! I don't know what I said exactly but I was saying how hiring backpackers that are coming and going is all well and good for us, but they aren't going to want to work up the ladder, they're just going to want to go. That's because that's what I'm going to be doing!!
After that I just got some food and then went back to the hostel to read and sleep! We've no work either tomorrow. It feels like I haven't done anything in ages!!
