Day 94: 4/4/13
Today we had only two hours of training, from 12-2. I just dossed around in the morning- reading mostly. I was there a few minutes before 21 but the bosses and most of the other people weren't there until 12:30!
We got iPads today which we use now instead of written contracts and instead of walk sheets. It took ages to turn them all on, get them activated and get the software uploaded. The iPads are pretty cool. They would be so handy to have in a classroom. You'd want at least 6 so you could use them for group work and things.
Anyway, we were looking at the iknock app. On that- our manager marks the turf and its sent directly to our iPads. The houses are all marked on it and You just click a button to say that they weren't home or weren't interested, etc.
Its pretty cool technology. The contract and everything is on it and when you ring for the verification call they will be able to see all the details from the contract so there will be a lot less to call out! It's cool to get to use them and see what that's like but it's a pain in the ass that its all changing just when I'm finishing! I mightn't even be able to make any sales with all this technology!!
After iPad training I got the train back to the shopping centre and passed some time watching Oz the Great and Powerful. It was okay.
Back in the hostel- I had to do some boring jobs like washing clothes!! There was a free wine and cheese tasting in the bar tonight so I went down to that with the German girls from the room- Andrea and Katrine. There wasn't much wine or cheese but what was there was pretty good!
They had a blind date show then. One girl got to hear answers from three different guys. The host was a guy called Safari Peter who has written travel books and dresses in weird safari clothes all the time. If you google him you'll be able to see what I mean. He was dressed like that for the bar too! He asked the questions which were mostly about sex- what film title would describe them in bed, etc. it was funny enough. She ended up picking the guy that was most cocky. But afterwards she was talking more to one of the guys that seemed nicer. It would be interesting to see if anything would happen with either of them!!
