Day 70: 11/3/12
It was a bank holiday today. We went to see the parade this morning which was part of the festival on all weekend. We got a good viewing place near the start of it and saw everything. There were lots of nice floats- some about books and reading. There were other groups which seemed to be from all different countries. Ill put up some pictures when I get a chance!
Petrine couldn't meet today as she was feeling under the weather. We went back to the house for the afternoon and I sorted a few things out. I'd to register my transport card, order a new SIM card on a cheaper network... That kind of stuff.
In the evening I went to see another accommodation place. It was a bit far away but I thought I'd see it anyway. I was supposed to get a train into the city and then another train out, but there were works on the 2nd track so I had to get a different train to another stop where they had buses to bring you to the stop that was open and thn get on a train the rest of the way- an awful ordeal to get there and back. The house was okay but the whole set up seemed weird. It was an old house but it was spotless. In each room there was a mattress. Nobody seemed to have stuff in any room and when I asked who lived there he said he was trying to fill the rooms and I asked if he lived there and he hesitated but said yes. It sounded like he wasn't too sure!! He was on the phone the while time and didn't really ask me any questions or anything- it was all very weird. I wouldn't mind compromising on either weird people or distance from the city, but not both.... Unless it was free!! So that was a waste of my time!
I was home in time to watch MasterChef which is getting really good now!! I looked up a few other places and I have two to view tomorrow evening. So well see what will come of them!!
