Day 93: 3/4/13
We didn't have to be at the office until 12.30 today so I'd a very lazy morning, again! Of course most people were late, so we didn't do anything until at least 1.
First we had a load of forms to fill out as we are registering with a new company. ASAP are the name of the marketing company that have the contract with Alinta and they have taken us on as a dealership or something! They had to photocopy our ID, take a photo of us for our Id badge and boring stuff like that.
We had a break for a while and then we had a presentation on Alinta, the procedure we will have to go through at the door and what you shouldn't do! We had a multiple choice quiz then to do in relation to fraud and good conduct and stuff! We won't be ready to sell tomorrow either as they have decided were going to use iPads straight away and we need to be trained in them. They said we might get out to turf Friday- but that was a might. Some people are saying we get paid a base wage as we've come in every day, some people say we get nothing. I don't know. I hope we get paid, but I'm not holding out for much!
We got paid today for my second week of work, in which I had 9 sales. There was one cancellation though so I only got paid for 8 sales!
When I came home I was going to sort out my washing but I put it off and decided to do more interesting things instead! I booked the hostel for another two weeks. It was cheaper booking at reception than it was booking online for some reason! I won't complain.
I also spent a while looking up flights from Hanoi, Vietnam to Dublin and ended up booking one as the cheap option had only six seats left! So on the 27th of July I fly from Hanoi to Bangkok, then to Abu Dhabi, then to Dublin. I get to Dublin at 7:30am on Sunday 28th July! I should be fairly recovered by the 30th- I presume we'll be hitting the races!!
I also contacted the department of education as Daithi said I needed to contact them about getting paid in September. They emailed back with a form that I need to fill out, which has to be signed by the chairperson and me, so that's going to be a nuisance trying to find a printer, filling it out and then posting it to the school and hoping they will post it on!
After that, I spent ages on the computer, just sorting out various files and folders I have on there- dossing really.
We have a snorer in the room tonight! She only appeared today- hopefully she won't be staying too long!
By the way, yesterday when I wa walking to the station to get to Laura's house I passed some interesting people and it just dawned on me that I'm a long way from Corofin now!! We're not in Kansas anymore Toto! There was an aboriginal man and a homeless woman arguing with each other- screaming and roaring. There was a black man in a Jamaican hat playing reggae music on a guitar with highlighter coloured strings! While all that was going on a woman passed in her dressing gown! And everyone was going about their business like this was all normal!
