Day 85: 26/3/13
This morning training was grand. I'd say all the teams struggled yesterday so they were just going over the whole pitch again.
We had the same Turf as yesterday with just some extra streets. Aj was still sick so it was just Malou, Chloe and I. We had great hoped of getting 11 between us but it didn't really work out!
Most of the doors I knocked on weren't interested or didn't have a clue about their bill. There was just no budging them. A lot of people opened the door, took one look at the Id badge and just said they were happy with their energy and closed the door.
Around 4 o clock I met this older lady who was on high rates and definitely wanted to change to a cheaper bill. She was nice at first and there was no problem going through the contract. When I pulled out the verification sheet to go through it with her she got cross saying she could read it herself and it was wasting her time- there was stuff she wanted to watch on tv! I have to go through it to make sure they understand and they have to sign it. So she did that. She wasn't too happy about there being a phone call either but she waited for it. When it was her turn to speak she have out to the girl on the phone and told her to hurry up and get on with it. She shouted all the yes/no answers at her. Then she handed the phone back to me. I spoke to the verification lady thinking she was ready to give me the code, but she said she wasn't finished asking questions. The customer said she was fed up answering them, was wondering why she bothered opening the door and had a good mind to throw my phone away! She still wanted the cheaper price though so she went back on the phone but then the verification lady hung up! I could ring back to finish it, but the customer said it was too much a waste of her time and she couldn't be bothered! After all that she apologised for being rude!! I was so annoyed as ye whole contract and everything was filled! She did want to sign but got cross when she realised it would take longer than 2 minutes. I felt sorry for the verification lady as she got the brunt of it!!
I was still on 0 at that stage which was fairly annoying and still getting lots of not interested! I eventually got one woman who was interested. She obviously didn't get many door knockers so it was all new her and she was going to save money so she wanted to sign. I got it all signed and when I rang the verification it came up as do not quote as she had a peak/off-peak meter! So I had to ring Chloe. At this stage it wa 6 o'clock and I didn't think she be able to do it, but in fairness to her she left the turf she was on and did it for me! So I got one sale- even though it was electricity only! That woman I sold to was really nice and was chatting about the job and everything. The fact that I was a teacher came up and she was saying- fair play to you for doing something totally different!
I ended on just the one anyway, Chloe got 4 and Malou got 0, so we were worse than yesterday!
They dropped me off on Chapel St who is where Laura lives but at the other end of it so it was about a half an hour of a walk away! After all the walking I'd done today anyway! I grabbed some dinner on the way home so it wasn't too bad!
I should have packed everything for the hostel this evening but I was too tired, so I'll have to get up early in the morning and sort it out! I'm half way through my sales career after today too and I'm still alive!!
