Day 105: 15/4/13
I was up early this morning getting stuff ready for the interview. I was told it was just a formality but at the same time I wanted to have a few answers to questions ready in my head! I was there about a half hour early so had to wander around a little before going in! There were contracts and stuff to sign aswell- just stating that you'd be working for Anzuk, the rates of pay, that you had to go through them if a job came up in a school they set you and stuff. It took a while to sign everything. Then my interviewer came to get me. He was only a young lad- definitely younger than I am! He had emailed all the stuff initially. He didn't ask many questions really just mainly what I was interested in teaching. They have a few special needs a schools aswell that I said I'd try if they came up but I could change my mind about that! Well see! They threw in an odd question about behaviour management, my best qualities, etc in the middle of every hunt else. It was grand really. I'm all signed up to go from tomorrow as far as I know, but he did say this week would be quiet as they are just back from holidays. Next week will be quiet aswell as Thursday, Anzac Day, is a public holiday and they are not allowed professional days either side of that. So he said he'd do his best to get me one or two days these weeks and then after that should be fine. I hope he's telling the truth! I can survive on 1 or 2 days, but to travel from Cairns to Sydney I'd really need 4 days. So fingers crossed for lots of sick teachers in the next right weeks!!!
I did very little for the rest of the day. I had to ring trailfinders about a letter they need me to sign about travel insurance. I had to sort out my bag for teaching. I had to update the blogs. I put all of those things off until late in the evening and spent most of the day reading a book on my phone! I only started it this morning but it was good and quite funny so I ended up finishing it. It's called Kiss me Kate and its free on Kindle if anyone is interested!
No other news anyway today. I'm going to bed early now so that I can be up shortly after six, waiting for a call!!
