One of the guys put on Miss Universe on the TV, so I watched a bit of that- I was quite curious to see what sort of things they judge you on, and I'm quite glad I will never enter one as one of the rounds they ask you serious questions that really put you on the spot like "How would you increase the amount of females in politics?" and similar questions. It was a bit unfortunate for Miss Spain as I think maybe the interpreter translated her question wrong as the answer she gave didn't really match the question being asked (or maybe she was just being a good politician). Amanda wanted to do something with her weekend, so we decided to go to some of the art galleries, and Zach joined us. There were a couple of stalls set up, and so I decided to try a ginseng coffee and New York mini cupcake, whilst Zach and Amanda had a normal coffee from the cafe outside the theatre. I'm not really sure how to explain the ginseng coffee as it just tasted quite sweet.
We started to look round the oriental collection, but it was more like museum artefacts, so we went upstairs so we could look at the paintings. I was a bit disappointed we never found the fashion and textiles gallery, but I think maybe it was because there was an art deco fashion exhibition going on, which we didn't visit because you had to pay for that one, and so maybe some of the collection had been taken into that.
When we had finished looking round, we decided to have a drink at the tram bar- purely for the novelty factor of buying a drink from an old tram, although I hadn't realised you couldn't actually drink inside- inside was just the bar bit and then you sat outside, and it was quite windy and cold. Zach wanted to take us to see the casino, and on the way got scared by a street performer pretending to be a gargoyle, and got serenaded by Mario from Mario kart playing guitar. The casino was huge and very grand, but none of us played on anything.
When we returned home, me, Sam and mum and dad tried to have a three way Skype, which failed because our internet kept cutting off- so annoying! I woke Alice up from her nap at 9, as we wanted to go to 3 monkeys on Chapel Street to check out their Reggae Sunday Sessions. The music we managed to listen to was very good, but they were just about calling last drinks by the time we got there, so next time I need to wake Alice up earlier. We decided to head back after that, and hang out with Lucas and Mia.
