I needed to get a pair of jeans I could wear at work at Hooked, and felt like I needed to make my image a bit more 'Melbourne' than it currently is (having lived in Cairns, all I've got is strap tops and shorts, and Melbourne is very fashionable). I had seen what I thought was a dress in a shop window, along the street from the pub hostel, but it turned out to be a top and skirt, but the skirt was unfortunately too long for me (but maybe fortunately for my wallet) so I just brought the top instead. I'm quite chuffed with the top because it has a print similar to a dress I have back at home and so I was chatting to the sales advisor about it and she said that the guy who owns the store designs all the clothes himself, and he only has one store, so I'll be only 1 in about 25 in the whole world who owns it! I also got some free chocolates because the shop is called 'Chocolate City'- result! Along the way, a woman came up to me and said 'excuse me, God bless you', which I don't know whether it was because she thought like I needed blessing or whether it was just a friendly gesture. I had been torturing myself by looking at English shop websites the other day, and so went into Topshop to see if they had any nice leather jackets. The one I saw was $116, but I made myself feel better by reassuring myself it was a good investment piece, and besides, I may not have had that much money this week (I had to transfer money out of my savings to pay for it, since I haven't been paid from Hooked yet, and most of Sienna's wages went on the bond for the house) but I'll have a lot coming in next week, and I felt like I deserved to splash out because I'll be working so hard and I worked so hard in Cairns.
Working at Sienna went very slow, but the coffee machine was playing up so we closed early. Joey, the manager that asked me if I still worked there the other day, told me to put away the dustpan and brush that I was using because there wasn't anything else to do because it looked messy- sorry for trying to use my initiative!
