Today, I was back at the Fitzroy Hooked, which is a lot less busy than Chapel Street, so it was quite a nice relaxing slow day, although I don't like the kitchen staff so much as the Windsor (Chapel Street) one- I think Deno thinks I'm really stupid- he was smirking at me whilst I was cleaning the recycling bin with a chux cloth and enzyme wizard (what I'm supposed to clean everything else with), and then said "You're working very hard, but it's not the sensible way to do it. We clean our bins at the end of the night with a scourer", but given that it's on the cleaning list, which is to be done in the day, and it didn't mention how to clean it, I think that's what I was supposed to do. The other day, when I ordered fish for my meal, he said "this fish will help improve your memory". He asked me to stay later, as Chris, the kitchen hand, wasn't trained in using the till, which meant I didn't as much as a break in between working there and at Sienna, but I'll get a Saturday rate of pay woohoo!
When I got to Sienna, Chana asked whether Michael managed to get in contact with me and asked why he was calling- apparently I was supposed to work last night, but I checked the photo I had taken of the roster which showed originally I wasn't supposed to be, and Michael said it was ok as I hadn't been told of the change so it wasn't my fault. It was a very busy Saturday, because of the races, but there was so many staff on, that it was like I had nothing to do because everything in my section had already been done. I had a table of 25, so Michael told me do a table map, which is basically where you draw a table and assign each customer a number, and then write next to the meals they are having, so just like the seat numbers at Hogs Breath, but then Tony seemed to think I had done it the wrong way- a problem of having 2 managers working at the same time!
