Motivated by the fact I knew McDonald's and similar companies would pay minimum wage or above, I spent the day applying for those, and got really, really into the idea of working at Macca's.
When Alice got back from her first care shift (she had been looking after an old Greek woman who kept telling her she would have loved for her to be her daughter) we went to Coles to get some stuff, and then Jo (English girl from Reef, who flew in Wednesday night) came round, but then I had to go and get ready for work.
Given that I had been asked to come back, I had assumed that meant I had the job, but when I asked if I had a clock in card, Michael, the other manager aside from Arnie, said that I was still on trial, so I have no idea if I'm getting paid for the work I've done or am doing until Wednesday which is pay day. There was a really nice girl called Dana who, after all my negative feedback from Arnie, helped increase my confidence by saying I was doing a great job, which I really appreciated. I'm pretty sure Arnie told me I could put in orders, but when Michael found out I had been putting in food orders, Arnie claimed he had only asked for me to put drinks orders, but it's not really that much harder to do. At the end of the night, Michael said I had improved since yesterday and asked me back again (but I still don't know if I'm still on trial!!!). I finished so late, I had to get a taxi back, as the trams stopped going, so I best get paid!
