I had another shift at Hooked today, and I slipped up a few times by calling it Grilled for some reason on the phone, but Vicki said that that was the first time she had left someone to do all the sales and cashing up matched with what the till said. If this job could get me as many hours as Sienna it would be so much better than Sienna- it actually pays minimum wage and above (I get $17.49 an hour plus weekend rates), isn't cash in hand and I get free food if I work 3 hours or more (and it has healthy options unlike Hogs Breath). The guy who owns it is apparently an Acid Funk DJ who got to try food from all over the world by doing gigs in lots of different countries. Yesterday I tried the super food salad and grilled calamari, and today I had the fish burrito, both were yummy but the burrito leaked all over Alice's jeans I was borrowing.
Since I had the evening off, I dragged Alice and Amanda to Sienna so I could pretend I was one of the regular clientele- I love how they come and hang out and drink late night chai lattes etc. One of the managers, Joey, whose a bit of an a******* (I see a theme for Sienna managers) asked me if I was still working there, and then later on one of the waitresses, who I had met in Surfer's because she was friends with the Swedish girl from Fraser Island, said she thought she saw me on the list of people supposed to be working tonight, so it got me worrying that I had written down the wrong day I had off, but I hadn't. I ordered a Nutella calzone to share and tried a yummy apple crumble cocktail- apple schnapps, vodka, and cloudy apple juice and topped with cinnamon which, together, set me back about $30, but I felt like celebrating the fact I have 2 jobs.
