I walked to Balaclava to scout out a cafe or somewhere I'd be able to get Wi-Fi so I could Skype Grandma for her birthday weekend tomorrow morning. The library has internet, but would mean having to sit outside as it isn't open early enough for me to go inside. I'm not sure whether you have to pay but a man was playing on a Wii when I checked it out. The frozen yoghurt shop in Balaclava is definitely the best one I've been to- I had honey soybean and natural yoghurt topped with stewed apple and rhubarb, chocolate covered goji berries, halva (a sweet made from sesame seeds), hot chocolate sauce and banana and caramel sauce. I was a bit gutted when I came back to the house later on and Alice was going to go as obviously it would have been nice going with someone instead of just having one by myself.
Coles has a self serve dried fruit, nuts and pulses kiosk which was quite a fun way of buying quinoa (they seem to love quinoa here in Melbourne). I want to try loads of things but the amount of chilli and lime soy crisps I served myself was under the minimum 40 g.
I had the evening off from Sienna so offered myself to work tonight at Hooked so I could get experience working at night time. Vicky warned me it could get pretty hectic (as expected on a Friday night) but because the customers queue up, and the kitchen help bring things out when it's busy, then the only multi tasking you need to do is answering the phone whilst serving customers, so it was manageable. I was trying to count change really carefully so that the till wouldn't be even more out than what it was left at from lunchtime, but somehow I still made it about a dollar under. One of the office staff is going to take over the full time hours, so I'm going to stick with having 2 jobs, although Lucy seems to be annoyed at my requests to just be put on evenings at Sienna.
