I had a free trial at Fitness First (a gym) today, but because it was another girl doing it to the one who told me about it, I think she thought I had expressed some interest in signing up to one, when I was only going because the girl on the street had offered me a free session. She was telling me about all the free classes I could go to on my membership, so I thought maybe I got a 2 week trial or something, so it was a bit awkward when it came to her telling me about the pricing and I had to say I wasn't interested in paying just yet. I did like the step climbing machine though, except I didn't want to hit it too hard as I am doing 4 until close at the restaurant.
Back at work, a girl quite rudely told me it was really annoying when people asked if the docket was coming for a dessert that had been put up on the counter, which given that I had asked in a nice way and am new, was unnecessary. I appreciated it when Julia told her so, and also said that I had done a great job running drinks the past two days. The girl called Sharee (I think) and me did have a chat afterwards so it showed her it hadn't bothered me that much. A boring job like sweeping I found I actually enjoyed (probably because it gave me a break from all the criticism). I found it ridiculous that Michael asked me if I wanted a 30 minute break to order some food (i.e. he made it sound like I could only have the break if I got food from there) so I thought I must get it for free. I ended up paying $10 for a pizza I didn't really want (although to be fair it was very tasty). I also felt brave enough to ask for a chai latte which was also very good. A girl from Leeds, Hannah, went through the menu with me, and then I was allowed to share a section with a Danish girl called Camala AND I PUT IN FOOD ORDERS! This meant by the end I was actually enjoying it as I got to have a little more interaction with the customers- I had a group of 5 boys celebrating ones 17th birthday who gave me a tip for myself (but I put it in the tip jar anyway). Charlie, a boy from Newbury, who's over here at Uni, had got told off from Arnie for not taking water bottles off people bringing them over, so every time after I gave him a bottle he pulled a really funny happy face. Me and Arnie actually had a jokey conversation! I had to get a taxi back again.
