Saturday morning saw Ben and I along with Maureen and Janice, a student, opening hundreds of boxes of books donated in Australia and sorting into secondary and primary suitablitiy. Was totally shattered after 4 hours of this!! Ben and I will take them to our schools when we visit. On Friday we'll take some to his primary schools especially a settlement school and I'll take some to the Anglican ageny to get sent by river to Aiome and across the water here for Raikos.
Two weeks of separation already! Yesterday, Sunday I couldn't go to Chapel as the rain was worse than I have ever seen it. Instead I cooked and put stuff in the freezer for meals this week which is going to be a busy one. Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday we have our HIV/AIDS workshops all day. Not sure how many will attend as Ben's letters went out late and we even put a radio message out but when I listened the girl got the dates all wrong and the part about secondary schools was confusing! I listened to the radio with the new Head, Nick from Raikos as he came to listen to his interview that wasn't included!!! We had met earlier in the day with a Raikos man who is going to do the repairs. We also went to meet Rotarian Kevin to see the 15 computers that will go over to Raikos. The budget is due to be agreed this week. On Saturday before Nick left he called me to tell me that Kevin had given him a lap top so you can imagine how thankful he was to me not that I did anything except be the middle man!!!
Schools have not all opened even though this is week 2! Brahman has lost all it's bridges!! They are seriously considering getting a boat! The road is always partially a river when we drive there anyway. So no kids can get in nor teachers. Holy Spirit is still closed because of a cholera out break. Raikos closed until they can rebuild the canteen etc.
You will be pleased to know that I can now sit after my Raikos trip!! Nick did tell me that he had been really scared when the boat left!!
Saw on the local news that Queenland where we spent Christmas has had terrible flooding especially Townsville so no wonder we're getting loads of rain.
Have a good week!
