What a week of rain we've had! You in the UK are moaning about it being too hot whilst here were are fed up with the rain!! It's also very hot. One day the rain never stopped but mostly it comes in the night. Must be because the schools are on holiday!!

One day Ken went with Roger and John to go to the island called Karkar. They never made it because of the weather. As they were going to try and following day I went with them. You have to drive for an hour and then go by banana boat for 40 minutes. Hired our boat and off we went. Because it was paid for we were the only passengers. Sat on the floor and off we went. Brilliant! A bit choppy but Karkar was clear. By the way this is a volcanic island.

Really enjoyed the school which is right by the sea shore. They were telling us that in 10 years the coast had eroded about 50 yards! The school has been given PCs by the MP and the equivalent of BT had given internet access. Unfortunately Roger had been unable to find out why it wasn't working and so John who is replacing him was to have a go. Even though John is an IT professional he couldn't repair it. Hopefully it will get connected soon.

Ken and I had a lovely walk around. The island has one road all the way around it for 40 kms. It was beautiful.
