Sorry can't upload phots at the moment and I think that another volunteer has infected this PC!! But this is where I spend some of my time and where we hold our workshops. It's not too far from home, just a short walk up the road and so very convenient.
After my Raikos visit I thought that this would be a quiet week but it has been quite busy. My face iis just about OK and Sian wanted a picture and I can't remove it from being uploaded and typically that went in and the others haven't.
So next week Ben, my Primary colleague [only two Education vols left in Madang, and I are to put on a workshop which schools can send three staff members as the course is repeated for three days. It's an HIV/AIDS workshop which was to be run by our colleagues here but they now are off out of madang and have let us down. I thought of Able from the college and he and his colleague have stepped in at the last minute. They are very experienced and we reckon probably a better pair to run the session. They have run sessions for me before.
So having had to sort that out and do loads of running around in the old VSO vanette which I have had to drive as Ben hasn't bothered to get a license it has kept me out of mischief!
Nick, my Raikos Head came round again yesterday to chat and he told me that he had been really worried about me when I left on the boat and which is why he had kept phoning until I answered!!! Today I introduced him to Rotary Kevin and Nick saw his 15 PCs all ready to go over in a boat!! I also met a builder from Raikos and they are hoping that next week their building budget will be agreed and they can start the repairs. He seems an excellent local man and we, Nick and I hope, he'll become a Governor.
So tomorrow, Saturday I will be unpacking boxes of Rotary books to sort into secondary or primary school piles. I will then take them on my school visits when start beginning of March.
