The wedding

Well this is was brought us back to Kathamndu! The first day was a lunch at Shyam Badan's home [bride's mother] followed by a cricket match between the two families! We were part of the Shrestha family and we won!!! It was so serious!! But the spectators had a good laugh.

For me the best part was meeting Shyam Badan's mother who has lived with her for possibly 40+ years and had been poorly when we'd been at Shyam Badan's home on our arrival. She was in fine form and loved seeing us and reckonised Ken immediately.

Then came the wedding itself yesterday. Very casual in many ways and a mixture of Nepalese and British even with a sprinkling of kilts!

At the dinner we sat with Shyam Badan's brother-in-law who was a Rotarian so we had something in common and had a great laugh together.

So not even a week since arriving and we are very much at home but I am tkaried [local Nepalese food]out!!! And I don't think Ken wants to see anymore rice for a while!!
