Shiva's home

Before we left for this trip to Kathmandu after 30 years I said to Ken that I wanted to find Shiva our gardener, Purna, our aiyha and Hira our tailor. Well so far we've met Shiva, spoken to Hira and arranged to meet and found that Purna, although still young has in fact died.

When we spoke to Shiva on the phone he arrived to see us within 15 minutes! He was so thrilled as we were and yes I got very emotional! He invited us to his home for a meal and we went on Saturday. He came to fetch us, had a taxi organised, it was brilliant. He has built a lovely home, has land and still works in the school but not in our old garden. He has 4 children and we met the son, his wife and son -he's a teacher and his younger daughter who is a beautician. The other two daughters are married. It was lovely to see a cane chair that I had given him years ago in one of the bedrooms!!

The views from his home would cost a fortune in Europe!!
