Day 10 May 4th. Viana to Logrono
9k 105 up 195 down. Left at 8:00 had breakfast then left again. Arrived Logrono 11:00ish

Last night we met Lynne/ Linda from England Vladimir and Mary from Ireland. Vladimir and Linda arrived together but are not a couple. She had had a fall on the road and he had patched her up. Mary is a photographer and is finishing in Logrono we walked with her into town and as it was too early to get into our beautiful two balconied corner room twin bed and private shower room we went to find lunch. Pinxtos tapas further west. I had artichoke and jamon and a goat cheese and berries with a white wine 6.2 E. Very good and gave us some confidence to do it ourselves.

We have walked 159 km toward Santiago in 10 days. We need to do 122k in the next 6 days. We think that is doable then will have two nights in Burgos.

The days here are still quite chilly. I have even worn gloves.

Saw our first stork with a baby today as we were coming in to Logrono. In a very large so probably old nest. Yesterday we saw a very beautiful bird with white and gold markings on its back and wings. It flew over us twice about a blackbird size but streamlined and dart shaped. Like a swift it flap flap flapped then glided. Tail closed to a point.

Have done some washing and now resting in our room. Will head out soon.
