Day 32 Saturday 26. Cold wet
El Ganso to Foncebadon. Up 445m down 20. High 11 low of 6
Had a very good pilgrim meal and shared a table with Whit (redundant American pastor on cycle) Paul retired Californian and Menke lovely young woman from Netherlands. We had a lovely salad mixte with walnuts apples avocados etc and spaghetti with garlic and olive oil. 12E
Slept in the later part of the night too much snoring.
Met Tawna and Lou outside the shop and we had a coffee and set off. Rain was predicted for late morning. We arrived in Rabanal de la Camino 7 km just before 10:00. Had a great cup of coffee and orange cake. I rang Hugh and it looked like the Waratahs were going to beat the Cheifs. Then carried on to Fancebadon. I wore my new plastic poncho most of the way. Only very light spots of rain but it keeps my pack dry. Walking off the road on a track through scrubland. Some beautiful flowers. Arrived Foncebadon before midday and got our chores done.
Had a great lunch. A bacon and cheese sandwich which was as round as a saucer and flat and a glass of wine 5.80. Bought some provisions for supper and went to rest. Jean is safely in SdC and looking forward to being in the air and on her way home. I miss her company and wonder what she is up to as I walk along.
Off to catch up with the others. Met Gemma NZ now Brit and Sue and her husband from the USA.
We are getting up at six and away by seven as Rain is forecast around midday.
I can see Jean saying Aha it’s good to have a plan.

Hugh The Chiefs did beat the Waratahs in the end. More improtantly the Highlanders beat the Reds (Hooper and his mates) though not by much. The food's sounding good - weather not so much but no better here. now you're getting near Ponferrada remember to stay away from truckstops!
