Sunday 6 May 2018 Day 12
Ventosa to Azofra sunny 24h. 11low
16 km. 205 up and 290 down
A wonderful day. A blue sky but hazy down at the horizon. Jean said a NZ sky.
Set off in good time this morning after a very peaceful night.
Jean quite uncomfortable with her little toe. We are treating it to sunshine as we write. Jean has taken to the nail with my heel file in the hopes that it won’t run tomorrow.
My foot regime seems to be working. Left the pressure bandages off my knees and they were good. 16 is not 22 so we will see tomorrow.
Jean walked from food stop to food stop today. Using heaps of calories we had our second beer today a pint with lunch was really rummy. Not going out for dinner tonight bought a bottle of wine some eggs and some vegetables. Really miss veggies. Too lazy to cook it yet.
Mostly grapes now old ones and some new plantings. We are in Rioja country such a pity that red wine keeps me awake still the vino blanco is ok too.
We have a small room to ourselves. They only have two bed rooms at this Albergue which makes a nice change. It
Was built in 2004.
Jean just declared wine o’clock so she fetched the wine and dealt with the cork (will Europe never embrace the screw top) and I fetched the crackers and our well travelled cheese. Such are the delights you get to do twice as many bad ( I really mean good) things.
Check out the photos will write tomorrow
