¡Hola! Day 17 - 21k, we have now done over 300k!! Can't believe it - we've never walked this far before. Body basically OK - few foot/ankle aches but nothing serious at this stage. Weather today was atrocious - outside during the worst of it, exposed on a big widely open plain ( yeah I know about the rain in Spain!) saturated, rain, wind and hail. The pic is of another peregrino up a head, walking the last stretch into Hornillos del Camino, the half-way mark for today. Walked in those conditions for about 3 hours then just as I was getting to the final village the sun came out!! I was soaked through the rain gear and all - quick hot shower, dressed, 20min siesta then bacon, eggs and chips and a beer and I was resurrected!! This village, Hontanas, has about 60 residentes - and I can hear a rooster doing his stuff outside. Also we get the church bells every hour - seems like the church invades all the available space en España. Found myself singing old hymns from Sunday School today while the rain pelted down - "are you weak and heavy laden, take it to the Lord in prayer" - seemed approprate At the time!! We are staying in the Albergue de Santa Brigida esta noche - got our own Room again - getting like a bit of privacy. Hasta mañana.

Jen Pity Seaton wasn't there to give the sermon! Glad going to Sunday school helped with the hymns. Nice talking to you yesterday. Love to you bothXX
Jan Hope the weather improves. I'm going back to Ashburton tomorrow. Been great to see more of the great-grandchildren. Scott had his boys around today. Love Mum
