Day 3 - Roncevalles to Zubiri, 22km, crisp, sunny spring day, wonderful day to walk, started off before sunrise (see pic) and got here about 1 pm - footsore and weary. We were on a Nice woodland trail and in all the time, didn't see 1 car! Hooray! I spoke Spanish for about an hour on The trail - basically until I was brain dead. One guy was Puerto Rican and the other an engineer from Madrid. We covered all The big stuff like kids, job ( short for me) God and The meaning of life. The body is stsrting to creak a bit - R knee and foot, especially - taped the foot tonight - plantar fasciitis I think. Hasta mañana - mañana es Domingo - tal vez la iglesia por el tercero tiempo esta semana!
Well it is supposed to be a religious and spiritual experience as well as a physical, mental and linguistic challenge

Jeremy Eeeeh pilgremos! You're right there into it! Haven't I been the slack gringo. I've just read ALL your blogs in one go! Yours is the first EVER blog I've EVER read! I can begin to imagine it... but not really.....you're a world away and deep in adventure. We're assuming you're walking together? Keep those blogs coming, I promise to be more responsive. Daylight saving gone today. An extra hrs sleep and lazy breakfast before a beach walk with young Ben. Work as usual. Sue now retired from being my PA and hopefully on the cusp of re-designing her days. Autumn not yet in full-swing but colour everywhere. The sea's still warm enough for swimming but the river's cold as a witches tid-bit. Am off to Open Homes now. Missing you two, can't wait to bask in your unsullied holiness when you return.
jeffandsal Hey Gringo - much as gracias para su atencion to el blog. I think Sue would LOVE this - so would you. Maybe sometime en el futuro? Think of you often Gringo - you would be like a pig in the proverbial here mate.
