¡Hola! Day 25- 18k thru the outskirts of León. Got a blister on my Right heel!! Argh! And the ball of my left foot feels pretty warm??. Thought I was past this sort of problem. Body generally feels v. tired so we plan a rest day - ANZAC Day in León. Met a few Aussies and we aré all going to meet up for a few beers so "we will remember them" in España this year. It is nice actually - seems to me The ANZAC spirit is still alive and well - especially when Aussies and Kiwis meet up overseas.
The walk was just business as usual - best part was watching a guy fly fishing by an old bridge - water looked a bit dirty to me for good fishing. Also it was the first day when I got down to shorts and T shirt- hurrah!! Lovely sunny day and when I got to León people were out promenading on the walking streets in The old town (see pic). Around 5 they all were in The bars, tables out on the street- much drinking and laughing. Looks like a nice way to spend a Sunday. Our hostel for The next 2 days is very nice, comfortable, quiet and Right in The centre of town- 100m to the Catedral. Always hard to find a restaurante open at 6.30pm bit we found a pizzería nearby By 7.00pm and then it was bed for 12hrs plus glorious sleep with no one else in the room!! ¡Hasta mañana!

Raewyn Sorry for the loss of your long time mentor and friend. Feel like I have been hearing about him for years before I met you guys. An important person. The Camino if nothing else offers lots of reflection time. You guys are providing daily entertainment. Our breakfast fix. Go well Rp.
Jen Hope you are starting to feel rested and that your ANZAC day was full of stories - we seem to have a few! Went with the grandchildren to The Court theatre yesterday, to see "Cops and Robbers" - fun. Off to Arrowtown tomorrow so will most probably be about a week before I am in contact. Can get me on cell phone if necessary. Lots lovexx
jeffandsal Thanks Raewyn
