Hola, buenas, que tal?
Day 7 - 22k, Puente to Estella. Weather sunny, fine, windy, got my rain jacket off for the 1st time- hooray! A pleasant day walking through grape vines and young crops - I think it mostly is oats. The pic is of a village called Lorca -gives an idea of the countryside. Basically gently rolling topography with pueblos about every 5k. I guess I just "booked it" to quote Caroline Hickok - walked pretty much non-stop - still took about 5 hrs. Body seems to be settling down to a pain level I can tolerate. Tonight in Estella we went to church again for another pilgrim blessing -Iglesia de San Pedro de la Rua ( St Peter of the Road) It was a nice ceremony and the priest seemed OK. He had clean, slow Spanish so I was getting most of it. Otherwise I didn't speak much Spanish today - guess that is just the breaks. We're now at the Casanova restaurant eating bacalao - salted cod - very nice and typically Spanish. As for mañana - who knows??
