¡Hola amigos! Day 8, 22k, weather cloudy, cool, a little wind, good walking temp. The rolling countryside continues, fields of grass, brassicas, grapevines together with ~10% uncultivated land. It is all very rural and peaceful. At one stage a 12k run with nothing but open fields - and you never seem to see anyone working in them?? The body is settling still - the last few kms of the day are still a mindless grind but the feet are less swollen and sore. There are plenty of walking wounded here and some of the feet are not good to look at!! So we are not too bad by comparison. We have both booked in for a foot massage tonight - woohoo!! Gem of the day was the Fuente de Vino at Irache, the wine fountain - free red wine for the peregrinos (see pic). Los peregrinos all flocked around like seagulls and for a few minutes it was like a hi octane party like back at uni! Hasta mañana.
