Buenas a todas! Day 40- 21k today, rain in the morning, fine in the arvo. Tried my new orange poncho (see pic) over the old rain coat and the system worked - so very happy. Early start, walked without breakfast- was a mistake because by The time I got food (10k) I could eat a horse. Rolling country, very green, Stone fences, lots of small villages with farmyards and cow poo blending with Camino trail - lots of agricultural odours. Looks like they make a lot of silage here - too wet for hay.
So we have only got 80k to go to Santiago - we will arrive there this Friday (si Dios quiere) and it will be a fiesta time "Fiesta de la Ascensión" Anyway Sal has booked us into a little pension somewhere near The Santiago Catedral so we should get thoroughly pumped up on Latino religious fervor. Meantime we are hiding down The road drinking beer with a few other peregrinos - building up The ledger on The other side. Hasta luego!!
