CALGARY SHOPPING TRIP

After weeks of looking forward to spending some money the time to head to calgary finally arrived! i had to work in the morning on wednesday, 8-12 and there was nothing to do!!! i headed to the internet cafe after work and chatted to mum and dad for a bit i love our little wed afternoon chats!! at half 4 my supervisor sara walked me dwn to the greyhound station. i dnt think i was trusted to actually make it there on my own lol. so after i brought my ticket sara waited with me till the bus came at half 5. leaving banff felt so gd after 14wks there without a break. was so strange leaving the rockies u cld tell immediately when u left the national park the mountains ttly disappeared to be replaced by flat grassland not as pleasant to look at as the mountains. so the ride to calgary went smoothly and i only had to wait bout 5mins till suze came and got me lol again dnt think i was trusted to actually make it to the hotel lol. we caught a cab to dwntown where we went to an irish pub for dinner. i had traditional fish and chips lol. still not used to the chips here having skin on one side its jst plain weird anyways i washed that dwn with a pint of stella again my first since leaving the UK so i savoured every mouthful lol. we took the seatrain bk to the hotel which was so nice! housekeepings gone to my head though walking into the room i immediately inspected it to make sure it was clean and stocked. suze and i were as bad as each other...my bed was lumpy, there was a stain on the carpet and the fitted sheets didnt cover the matress u wldnt get that at the Y HA!!! think its gonna be a habit now whenever i stay somewhere to see if its as gd as i can do lol.

After a night of chatting and watching tv oh and checking emails we had free internet in our room...cool eh?!? we headed to macdonalds for breakie where i had to repeat myself a million times cause they cldnt understand me. they also cldnt grasp the concept of a bacon roll. in our mcds bk home for breakie u can jst get a bacon roll but no here they stick one piece of bacon on a muffin thats it. i had to ask for it specifically like that as well think they thought i was nuts!! they're so not used to tourists in the city was funny a few ppl commented on my accent. we spent the first little bit taking lots of random pics as u can prob tell lol. then we got into some serious shopping. first stop was a place called winners i.e. T K MAX was amazing i restrained myself though and only brought 1 pair of 3/4 jeans for the summer i love them. then it was off to HMV where i found season 3 of bones for bargain price of $40 only 23 quid so of course i had to buy it. that was my first compulsive buy and wasnt my last lol. headed to our first shopping mall of the day which we had to get to by seatrain. was an adventure!found an amazing shop that had 2 t-shirts for $15 and 2 graphic tshirts for $30 so thinking i'll need more t-shirts for the summer i got one with mighty mouse in it very cute and 1 with the cookie monster and a few plain vest tops. so now am all set for summer. found another amazing shop that had bargain jeans which i needed so restrained myself and only brought 1 pair of dark blue jeans which are gonna replace my ripped ones from hiking. lunch time came only fast and we stopped at the foodcourt in the mall. was ok food. we headed to walmart after that which was the highlight i love that shop!!! the stuff is so cheap and i cld have stayed there all day. cldnt help my self got 2 more t-shirts, headphones, cool socks with monkeys on them and 3/4 trousers for work in the summer. didnt try them on though big mistake they're a little snug but shld fit by summer (fingers crossed). hopped bk on the seatrain after that and headed bk into the city to change buses and head to chinook the big famous mall in calgary. it was here i brought my biggest thing...a pair of running shoes and another pair of trainers (it was buy 1 get 1 half price and i needed another pair of trainers my others have had toilet juice, garbage juice and chemicals spilled all over them hazards of being a hskpr) any way managed to find a great pair of running shoes which are th comfiest ones ever! that was my final purchase however i did find a build-ur-own-bear workshop shop which of course i had to go to so bella u have a present when i get home. cldnt resist this wee matching outfit that had canada on it. very cute. eventually it was time to head bk the greyhound with our hundreds of bags. we got searched b4 getting on the bus and ib was in stiches the whole time. we were only allowed 1 carry on and of course me and suze had about 3 each so we had to condense everything dwn and empty our pockets the securirty guards jst laughed at our antics.

made it on the bus and bk to banff in 1 piece with our purses significantly lighter than when we got there, we're both now living on noodles till nxt pay day!
